Good Citizen Award Reception

The John Cooke Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, recently held a reception for the recipients of the Good Citizen Awards from the two local high schools. This event was held at the Oceana United Methodist Church. Seniors being honored were Angelina Terry, Wyoming East High School and Joshua Stafford, Westside High School.
The welcome and introduction of the recipients of the Award and their guests was given by Anita Lusk, Regent for the Chapter. Jean Lusk led the group in the Pledge to the American Flag and Virginia Smith, Past Regent, gave the history of the Good Citizen Award. Each winner was presented a Good Citizen pin and small certificate. They will also receive a certificate at their awards assemblies. Rev. Dewight Stafford gave the closing prayer and blessing of the food.
