The Register-Herald
Gary A. Stafford has been named circulation manager for Beckley Newspapers, according to Frank D. Wood, publisher and general manager.
A native of Wyoming County, Stafford has worked for Beckley Newspapers in the circulation department for nearly 17 years.
"Gary Stafford is a dedicated, longtime employee who has worked diligently for the betterment of our newspaper and publishing operation, and I am confident he will continue to serve the public well in his new position," Wood said. "His focus has always been on our customers, and that's our No. 1 priority."
Starting in 1992 as a district manager for Wyoming County, Stafford has worked his way up the department ladder, serving as a senior circulation manager, home delivery manager and most recently as interim circulation director.
"I'm excited about the opportunity," Stafford said. "I've always been a people person. My parents raised me to be an honest, caring person, and I keep that first and foremost in my mind every day.
"It truly satisfies me to help somebody, and that's very important when you talk about delivery of our newspapers and magazines."
Prior to joining Beckley Newspapers, Stafford worked for nine years in the parts department at Otis Cook Motor Sales in Oceana.
A 1983 graduate of Oceana High School, Stafford is the son of Curt and Christine Stafford of Oceana. He and his wife Vanessa, a customer service representative at First Peoples Bank in Pineville, reside in Oceana.
