Allen Elected County Commissioner

Larry Allen, a 1979 graduate of Oceana High School, was recently elected County Commissioner for Davidson County, North Carolina. Allen recieved over 15,400 votes to win the 7 November election.
Prior to winning the November election, Mr. Allen was selected by the Davidson County Republican Party to fill a vacated seat on the Davidson County Commission and was appointed to the position in late July 2006. He was also selected to represent the Davidson County Republican Party as their candidate for the election to fill the unexpired term as Commissioner.
Mr. Allen is currently the Republican precinct Vice Chairman of the Reedy Creek precinct and is also the Voter Registration Chairman. He also has served on the Davidson County Republican Executive Committee (2005-06) and the North Carolina State Republican Party Executive Committee, representing the 12th Congressional District. Mr. Allen is a former chapter president of the Jaycees. He is a 1987 recipient of the Charles Kulp Memorial Award presented by the United States Jaycees recognizing the top forty local chapter presidents in the nation.
Mr. Allen serves on the Board of Directors for Davidson County Smart Start, Davidson County Fire Commission, Davidson County Day Reporting Probation/Parole Advisory Board, Davidson County Criminal Justice Juvenile Program, Davidson County 911 Advisory Board, and the Joint Educational Advisory Construction Committee for the Charles England Intermediate School.
