Teen Years
By: Dianna Caroll West Peterson (Class of 1964)

I lived in Oceana and attended school there from frst grade until my 10th year. I should have been in the class of 64. My family moved to Charleston in the middle of my 11th year so I actually graduated CHS in 1965. I never really fit in in Charleston. I attended Morris Harvey College graduating in 1969, and moved on to Chicago. Upon returning to WV, I spent some time in Pineville before moving to Florida. I actually grew up not having a high school and never attended reunions over the years, although OHS always had a soft spot in my heart. I was a cheerleader in my freshman year with Dianne Hall, Sandra Short, Brenda Goode and I thnk someone else. I was an average student. I remember being very awkard and little standish offish. I did not think I was particularly pretty or talented.I remember g! oing to games, eating at Tony's drive in, drinking RCColas and dancing. I loved to play records and dance.

A particular fond memory, I had, was working on the homecoming floats in a old wearhouse in the middle of town. One of the few times, my Dad let let me go anywhere. I thought I was something I remember the senior boys as being dreams and so mature at age 17! I remember having a crush on Bobby Marshall from Matheny, Ricky Hickman from Kopperston, like they were a world away. Big time crush on LC Argabright. That was when I was 15 and now I am 65--50 years later. I still have my OHS Letters, the only things I have left of my Oceana years. Everything else was destroyed in a fire. Go Indians!

Records
By: Jerry Matthews (Class of 1961)

That's nice George. When school let out one day I drove from OHS to Beans Store passing two cars on the way in reverse. Mike & Butch were in the car with me. Don't know if it was a record but as Butch said if not it was one heck of an average!!!

State Record
By: George W. Conley (Class of 1960)

I fouled out of a varsity basketball game in one minute and thirty five seconds!

Judy Morgan
By: Marsha Milam Collins (Class of 1980)

I just read that Mrs. Morgan passed away, just wanted to share with her family and friends that she was one of my favorite teachers, she made me love art ... even if I was not that well of a artist ... lol She always had a kind smile whenever you seen her in the hallways or classroom.

Mr. Barret's Algebra 1 Class
By: Carolyn Roberts Lloyd (Class of 1966)

One of my outstanding memories is getting Randall Topping kicked out of our Algebra class....and bless his heart he wasnt even the culprit that took my purse...still sorry Randall...LOL
